Summer Reading

I start 9th grade honors english Tuesday.
We were required to read the book "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury and then we had this list of choice books, I chose "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" by Betty Smith.
It's currently 1:55 pm on Sunday afternoon.
I am not done with Fahrenheit, I am not done with Brooklyn.
The word for that?
Screwed.

http://www.ehow.com/how_4701838_read-whole-book-one-day.html

Okay so my books are a little over 300 pages.
I'll make some tea and get in my PJ's.
I should probably turn off Phineas & Ferb...
I kind of did the whole time intervals thing but it wasn't really working. I'll split the books into 50 page intervals.

Wish me luck!

PS! All of the flower pictures, really any picture you see on here, I took and you can check out the best ones at http://indigomystery.tumblr.com

Cracked Feet

So, my mom's feet are really dry and yucky and I thought to myself, I really need to help her out here.
Also, just a quick note, basically on my blog I gather information and how-to's about certain subjects but then I take out what I think is most important and add my own knowledge, kind of gather it all together for you(:

So anyway, this is how you can make your feet super soft...
http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Soft-Feet
http://isabellasnow.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Get-Soft-Feet

  1. Soak your feet in a warm bath
  2. Exfoliate your feet (no dead skin!!! pumice stones!)
  3. Cut your nails and file them
  4. Massage your feet (good for circulation!)
  5. Put a thick layer of lotion on them
  6. Slide your feet into plastic bags (or just go straight into socks)
  7. Put on nice cotton socks
  8. Leave them on over night

Enjoy!

Oatmeal Face Cleanser

I'm always looking for homemade facial stuff and I came across this and it seems easy enough to try!
http://www.ehow.com/way_5769821_natural-homemade-face-cleanser-oatmeal.html

So, first you need to make sure you have the old-fashion rolled oats none of the instant oatmeals. Take 1/2 a cup of oatmeal and add just enough warm water so that it becomes a kind of paste. You can add a tbsp of honey to make the cleanser more moisturizing (I recommend!) Before you put your creation on your face, rinse your face in hot water to open your pores. Then you can apply the oatmeal to your face using your fingers. Once you've completely washed your face with the oatmeal, rinse your face in warm water and pat it try. I also recommend that you use a light face lotion when you are done so that your skin doesn't appear red or irritated.

Enjoy & relax! <3

Boobies.

Some people have 'em, and some people... like me... not so much. Here is a guide to making them appear smaller, and larger.

  1. Have good posture
  2. Have a good fitted bra (not to large or small, comfortable)
  3. Push up bra, padded bras and water bras will help
  4. Alright, it sounds awkward but massaging them is supposed to make them "perkier"
  5. Detailed necklines (lace, ruffles, jewels, etc.)
  6. Stay away from scoops and deep v necks
  7. Light colors make your chest look larger
  8. Horizontal stripes
  9. Do chest exercises (clamp your hands together in front of you and push your hands together)
  10. Eat a good diet and don't loose too much weight
  11. Wear tight tank tops
  12. Spaghetti straps
  13. Accentuate your hips

  1. Wear a supportive bra
  2. Wear shirts that fit
  3. Wear dark colors
  4. Wear loose clothing
  5. Avoid wearing long necklaces
  6. Do chest exercises like weight lifting, pull ups and push ups (also for smaller breasts)
  7. You can wear to thinner bras for them to look very small

Parents Always Saying NO?

I know when my mom says no, it means no. But what if she didn't say no? What if she said yes? There would be no argument and everyone would be happier :)

http://www.wikihow.com/Get-What-You-Want-from-Your-Parents
http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Your-Parents-to-Stop-Saying-No-to-You
http://answers.ask.com/Society/Other/how_do_you_get_your_parents_to_say_yes

  • Think about why you want what you want (for example, I wanted my macbook for music. come up with at least 3 reasons, if you don't have that many, don't ask)
  • Be prepared for that dreaded NO.
  • Save up half the money for the thing you want (I want an iPad so I'll save up 250$)
  • Ask your parents politely (if they say yes, great, if they say no once, THEN offer to pay half)
  • Smile & make eye contact! (do not cross your arms!)
  • Do not yell, slam doors or insult your parents
  • Always ask when they're in a good mood
  • Don't ever start your proposal with "I know you're going to say no..."
  • If they say "I'll think about it" don't pester them. They'll think about it and get back to you.
  • THINK about what you're going to say before you talk
  • Say please & thank you (:
If they say no, try again in a couple of weeks or, just save up and buy the thing yourself! It isn't the end of the world

Healthy Hair

Let's be honest. One of the first things we see when we look at a person is their hair. If it's in a short bob we usually think, this person is reserved and sophisticated. If its long, blonde and beach-like we automatically think wow. But whatever type of hair you have, keeping it healthy is the real key to beauty.

So let's start with some foods that can keep your hair healthy, according to http://www.webmd.com/healthy-beauty/features/top-10-foods-for-healthy-hair

1. Salmon (yummy)
2. Dark green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, etc.)
3. Beans (ew but true)
4. Nuts (almonds are so good!)
5. Poultry (thank god)
6. Eggs (this is an easy one)
7. Whole grains (swap out white bread for whole wheat & maybe try whole wheat pasta. its not bad!)
8. Oysters (um.)
9. Low-fat dairy products (if you drink skim milk you're set! same with low fat yogurt)
10. Carrots (also good for vision!)

Alright. Now let's get to the good stuff. The junk that will really help us have great hair. http://www.wikihow.com/Have-Great-Hair
http://www.ehow.com/how_1000258_get-healthy-hair.html

  • Wash face at least once a day (easy enough?)
  • Only use products that are good for your hair
  • Don't brush your hair too often
  • Wash your hair with cool water (put your hair up in a ponytail until its time to wash it, then wash it in cold or cool water)
  • Wash hair every other day (massage shampoo for 40 seconds then "rinse and repeat", then lather conditioner all over hair and leave on for 2-3 minutes, then rinse)
  • Make sure your shampoo doesn't have ammonium lauryl sulfate
  • Do not rub your hair with a towel (it will pull out hair. instead, blot it with a towel)
  • Never leave hair wet or damp when you go to bed (some hair may fall out)
  • Don't use blow drier too often
  • USE HEAT PROTECTION SPRAY!!!
  • Do not brush your hair when it's wet (use a wide-toothed comb)
  • Use a leave in conditioner once a week
  • Get a trim regularly
  • Try using your heat-styling tools only every second or third day

Hope this helps!
I'll also do some posts on styling tips for hair type (curly/wavy/straight)

xo!

Double Chins

I can't believe there's actually a website dedicated to getting rid of double chins. (THANK GOD)

"One of these exercises requires [you] to lean your head back on a firm surface. You should then extend your tongue out as far as it will go. In your mind, count to ten. Once you have reached ten, you will need to move your tongue back into your mouth slowly."

"With your mouth closed tightly, and while sitting straight up in a chair, drop your head to your chest. Slowly lift your head and slowly tilt it backwards as far as it will go. You should feel the neck muscles and throat muscles working and tightening. You will want to do a few repetitions to start and then increase them every week. "

Good luck!

I Crave The Spotlight

What do I need to do to get you to notice me?
How to get you to read my blog?
How to get you to love me?

The problem is, I don't know anyone on here. And I can't tell any of my friends this is my blog or they'll think I'm a superficial bitch. Which, I'm not trying to be. Which I'm not... But you'll learn about that throughout my blog.

I just need some blog buddies.

Kiss Notes

Bridget Maloney.
I am always on the internet. Google Chrome is my best friend. I am entering my freshman year of high school next week and often look for beauty and lifestyle articles on how-to sites like Ehow and Wikihow, but it always took me a long time to find what I'm looking for. Everyone says, love who you are on the inside who cares what you look like on the outside... but let's be honest. Everyone cares what you look like on the outside. It's the first thing they see, the first impression. Now believe me, I would never want anyone to change who they are inside. You are beautiful in your way, God makes no mistakes. But it doesn't mean that when entering high school or middle school, anything you don't want to look and act your best. So hopefully, my guide can help you be the best you can be but always remember, you are so gorgeous.
